You will need Chinese text
viewer software to read most of these Chinese-language web sites. Some have
English-language content. For full text searching, you will need a Chinese
language package capable of Chinese character input. Several are available
for purchase on corporate websites such as Twinbridge (http://www.twinbridge.com) , Unionway (http://www.unionway.com) and NJSTAR (http://www.njstar.com) now offer a
Chinese-Japanese-Korean viewer/input engine which integrates with Netscape
Navigator browser.
Many
standard tools such as programs that can download entire websites and
searchbot programs (available at freeware/shareware sites such as Tucows. Copernic
has been found to pick up many Chinese websites since some of the big
international search sites such as Yahoo! have many Chinese websites in their
databases. A
collection of English-language websites in China can be found at EastNet . English-language mailing
lists about the Chinese Internet, E-commerce and pharmaceuticals are
available from Eastnet at China
