The Embassy considers the provision of services to American citizens one of its most important missions in China. In addition to consular services (passports and birth registrations), the Embassy provides information and assistance in a number of other areas (notarials, tax and voting information, etc). We are located at 2 Xiu Shui Dong Jie, just to the northeast of the Jian Guo Men Wai Friendship Store (see map). For general information on traveling to China, also visit the Department of State's website on international travel and the Information Sheet on China.
The American Citizen Services section is open every Monday through Friday, except holidays, between the hours of 8:30am-12:00pm and 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Be sure to bring your passport for identification when you come.
The American Citizen Services (ACS) section will be closed on October 21, 2005.
